To be honest: I have never been a WordPress fan. As a developer, it’s hard to work with something out of the box. Especially when you have the opportunity to change the basics of the application with code. But Elementor is one of the best features of WordPress. It allows you to create and style posts and pages really fast. You use elements and drag and drop them to the location you want. But… Those elements are just basic or paid. Sometimes you want that little bit extra. Oh, but you can… If you pay for it.
Welcome to Elementor Addon Components (EAC), made by Team Elementor Addon Elements. Free components for Elementor.
Free for really free
I was looking for an element that I can use for showing code on this website, a syntax highlighter. Most of the results I got from Google are expensive for a website that isn’t generating any money (yet). Then I hit the link for Elementor Addon Elements.
The website looks nice and professional. After a few minutes of browsing, I wasn’t convinced it is free. Where’s the catch? Surely they must get their money from somewhere, right?
Since I didn’t have to register with something (not even my credit card) I decided to download it. Later I discovered you can also use the plugin manager inside WordPress. After installation of the EAC plugin, I clicked around a bit. Nothing changed. Still no registration? Okay, cool. Let’s try this in Elementor.
Out of the box
EAC is ready for use as soon as you have installed the plugin. Simply create or edit an Elementor post or page. Widgets marked with an EAC image are the new widgets.

The new components are ready for use. I am not going to explain all the widgets. As you can see there are a lot of widgets you can use. A few examples:
Image with ribbon
Off-canvas
Slider
There are a lot of examples with EAC and I haven’t found widgets that are paid. A great plugin and a must for WordPress Elementor.
