What Are One-on-one Courses?

One-on-one online courses are courses you can order. There are a few online courses now, but I will add more later, depending on the demand of those other courses. A one-on-one course is a course with you and me, where I will guide you through the course. You can ask questions, ask for more clarification, and more. These online courses are held through Google Meet, Zoom, or Skype.

One-on-one courses are live courses you can follow. They are personal, dedicated to you, and interactive. The difference between an one-on-one course and a video course is that a video course is ‘this is it’. You get the information and nothing more. With a one-on-one course you get a dedicated teacher, you can ask questions when something is not clear, and you can practice on the spot.

These one-on-one courses are live coding sessions. Meaning I will show you how to code certain subjects and then you can try it while I guide you. This isn’t possible with video tutorials. Unless you constantly pause the video, rewind, and try again.

Because it is a live video course, I can change the course to your needs, making is a more career-specific course including career-specific projects. This will also help on a more personalized curriculum.

The one-on-one courses are just you and me, but if you want we can do it in a group (max 7). If you are a company and looking for a group course; no problem. We can do that.

About me

I started developing software in 2006. I worked for a lot of companies and learned most of what I know because of them. But in 2021 I switched to teaching, specializing in C# and all other facets of Microsoft. Think about the Cloud, structure, applications, and DevOps.

But I love traveling. Going on a world trip from 2016 to 2018 taught me that there is much more to the world than my own country. So, I set up this website and started traveling

I love being away from home; it gives me time to create courses with more content. I don’t just make quick courses to earn a couple of bucks, but I want you to learn from a more practical side with information you really need..

Frequently Asked Questions

I mean… Why not?

But seriously: I have been teaching for a while now and I noticed that one-on-one courses tend to work better. Most video tutorials go from A to Z. While this might work for some, I noticed it doesn’t work for most.
When you follow a course you develop questions or interpret some information differently, which is totally normal. Or you see or read something and you can’t find it or it’s deprecated. But with a video tutorial, you can’t ask the teacher. With a one-on-one course you can.

After the less fun part (payment) you will be able to plan a start-up session of 45 minutes.  During this session, we will plan the days for the course. You will also get some homework to prepare yourself for the course.

Each learning session will be about one or more topics. After each session, you will receive homework which you can do in your own time to practice what you have learned.

It depends on the course. Check out the details per course; the duration is given there.

Besides an estimated duration, it also depends on how fast you learn. Sometimes we need longer, sometimes shorter. Most estimates turned out to be pretty accurate.

You would be perfect for the C# boot camp! This whole boot camp is created for people who have little to no knowledge of C# and .NET.

If you want to try a different course and I notice you don’t have enough knowledge for that particular course I will tell you. I don’t want to throw you in the deep or take your money without really teaching you something.

This is possible, sure! But not in the default setting of the course.

If you want to follow this course with more people, please contact me. Fill in the form and I will get back to you with a reply and a quote.

Do note that all of the attendees have to be in the same session. There will be no different sessions for each of the participants.

If you tell me why I am sure we can make something work.

A few rules:

  1. If you cancel 48 before the start-up session, you get a 100% refund.
  2. If you want a refund after the start-up session you will get a refund of the total amount minus € 40.
  3. There is no refund once you start the course. This is the first session after the start-up session.

It happens sometimes and it’s no big deal if happens once or twice.

If you can’t make an appointment, please let me know as soon as possible. Send me an e-mail or a message on Discord. During the session after the canceled session, we will make a new appointment for the lost session.

If it happens too often we will have a respectful and friendly talk. Please refer to the refund rules above.

A few basic house rules apply for the session:

  1. Don’t be late. If you let me know beforehand we can arrange something.
  2. Respect, in both ways, is important.
  3. Indecent behavior is not done. This includes but is not limited to sexual behavior, swearing, disrespect, and racism.
  4. Be open. Ask me if you have a question, don’t like something, or are unsure about something. I don’t bite!
  5. And the most important one: Have fun!
