One-on-one course

Entity Framework Core

From SQL to C# code

This course is for those who want to learn how to use Entity Framework Core from zero or those who want to learn a little bit extra about this subject. Don’t expect 100% coverage on the whole Entity Framework Core subject, because that’s impossible. I will give you enough information to work with in a way you can implement Entity Framework Core in your own application(s).

Most courses I have followed are so focused on theory and working with the perfect scenario. In my opinion, this isn’t right. There isn’t a perfect scenario in a perfect environment. That is why I place my focus more on the practical side of things. I want to show you how it is done, rather than just tell you. This way I will tell you less unused theory, but more practical examples.

To help you with the practical side, I have included examples and a project which you can download from my GitHub. With this project, you can type along as we are building more aspects of Entity Framework Core in a console application and API.

You do need to know the basics of C#! Know what variables are, how to create classes and methods, how dependency injection works, how to make decisions, how unit testing works, etc.

Frequently Asked Questions

After the less fun part (payment) you will be able to plan a get-to-know-eachother session of 45 minutes.  During this session, we will talk about your knowledge and how we will do this. We also plan the next sessions.

Each learning session will be about one or more topics. After each session (3 to 4 hours) you will get homework which you can do in your own time to practice what you have learned.

It’s 3 days in total and 3 to 4 hours a day. But it depends on how much you already know and how fast you learn. You will also get homework to practice on your own.

Most teachers would say “No problem! Just join in and we’ll go from there!” and take your money. But not me.

If you don’t have any C# knowledge I would not recommend you taking this course. I will not go over any C# basics and you might get lost after day one. It would be better to follow a basic C# course first (the course is in the making!).

This is possible, sure! But not in the default setting of the course.

If you want to follow this course with more people, please contact me on the one-on-one page. Fill in the form and I will get back to you with a reply and a quote.

Do note that all of the attendees have to be in the same session. There will be no different sessions for each of the participants.

If you tell me why I am sure we can make something work.

A few rules:

  1. If you cancel 48 before the get-to-know-each-other session, you get a 100% refund.
  2. If you want a refund after the get-to-know-each-other session you will get a refund of the total amount minus € 80.
  3. There is no refund once you start the course. This is the first session after the get-to-know-each-other session.

It happens sometimes and it’s no big deal if happens once or twice.

If you can’t make an appointment, please let me know as soon as possible. Send me an e-mail or a message on Discord. During the session after the canceled session, we will make a new appointment for the lost session.

If it happens too often we will have a respectful and friendly talk. Please refer to the refund rules above.

A few for the session:

  1. Don’t be late. If you let me know beforehand we can arrange something.
  2. Respect, in both ways, is important.
  3. Indecent behavior is not done. This includes but is not limited to sexual behavior, swearing, disrespect, and racism.
  4. Be open. If you have a question, don’t like something, or you are not sure about something: Ask me. I don’t bite!
  5. And the most important one: Have fun!

About me

I started developing software in 2006. I worked for a lot of companies and learned most of what I know because of them. But in 2021 I switched to teaching, specializing in C# and all other facets of Microsoft. Think about the Cloud, structure, applications, and DevOps.

But I love traveling. Going on a world trip from 2016 to 2018 taught me that there is much more to the world than my own country. So, I set up this website and started traveling

I love being away from home; it gives me time to create courses with more content. I don’t just make quick courses to earn a couple of bucks, but I want you to learn from a more practical side with information you really need..
